Well, now it's live!

Now, before I get inundated with emails protesting, this will be a semi-regular show in addition to the 3 shows I already produce.

The reason for this international show is that I get a lot of mp3 submissions from bands around the world. Admittedly my email address seems to be in some sort of bulk mailing list that bands or their managers are using to get music to music podcasters. And I don't, in essence, have a problem with that; most of these guys are producing music that should be getting heard by a much wider audience.

But as I produce a Scottish music podcast, I tend to have a quick listen to the submitted tracks, then forget about them...which is a bit of a crime.

Hence this new show.

If you're a subscriber you may want to skip downloading it. It'll be clearly tagged as 'tpinternational' in your aggregator, so you should easily be able to differentiate between it and the regular tartanpodcasts.

But I'd strongly urge you to give it a listen. As always the songs are handpicked by me and are tracks that I've personally enjoyed, hence I'm giving them the tartanpodcast endorsement ;-)

Sadly, no URL for these guys, but perfect for calming the nerves whatever the circumstances.
The song is taken from Deep Peace, which was sent to me by the folks at Autoclave Records. Autoclave Records are situated in Beauly and I'm looking forward to dipping into their back catalogue and bring you more music from the label very soon.

The video of my speech at PodcastCon UK can be downloaded here. It weighs in at 225Mb, which may put you off. Also, the audio is quiet at times. The entire event was recorded and will be released soon on mp3, but in the meantime this is the best I've got. If you want a copy of the audio itself - without the video - you can find it here.

I hope me putting this up on the 'net isn't viewed as me being big headed. Believe me, I'm not at all comfortable with standing up there in front of a roomful of strangers talking about music podcasting, so I'm not 100% thrilled at the resultant speech! And I hate being video taped/photographed, so it's a bit of a personal nightmare.

But a few people have expressed an interest in hearing what I had to say, and the questions from the floor were great, so perhaps it's of interest.

Sorry the hissing sounds on earlier show - it turned out my audio settings were set to record from microphone rather than line-in. Skype seems to hijack your settings to always be set to record from microphone.
Anyway, it should sound better on this podcast.
